WordPress has evolved in the past five years to become a versatile CMS capable of being transformed into a fully featured site. In addition to the reasons below, I suggest you do your own research and not take my word on it. Most custom systems like WordPress can cost thousands upon thousands of dollars. Worst of all, the money pit keeps getting deeper and deeper for site upgrades, fixes and other changes.
